PTCB Highlights the Last 15 Years PTCB celebrated its 15th anniversary in January as the industry leader and national standard in pharmacy technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE). This journey has been filled with notable highlights which we would like to showcase in this edition of CPhT Connection. PTCB was founded in 1995 by four pharmacy organizations: the American Pharmacists Association (APhA); the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP); the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP); and the Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA). In 2001, these four organizations were joined by The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Key PTCB highlights over the last 15 years include:
Throughout the years, PTCB has maintained a longstanding relationship with Professional Examination Service (PES), which has provided a 15-year partnership as PTCB's test development specialists. Additionally, PTCB contracts with Pearson VUE, the industry's technology leader, as its computer-based testing vendor. Today, in conjunction with the five governing organizations, PTCB continues its mission to establish a single national standard for pharmacy technician certification that is recognized and supported by the profession. |
